About Me
My name is Tess, and like it sounds, I am unique. Of course I'm not the only "Tess" in the world, but I am the only Tess. While being so strong in my sense of individuality, I find myself with a passion for creating one-of-a-kind characters. I don't mind getting my hands dirty for a project. In fact, I love all the textures. As I continue my way into the makeup industry, I look forward to learning all sorts of new techniques. So far, I have had the pleasure to learn and practice how to create a finished prosthetic look from the first steps down to the last stroke of a paint brush. With a short film, and commercial under my belt, I already feel excited about my next projects.
Skills:
Character Sketching- The best way for a director to understand your concepts for new character is to show them. I like to take a before picture of the talent's face and draw and color my ideas overlapping. This way if there are changes that need to be made it is clear far ahead of time.
Facial Prosthetic creation- From forehead to chin, the fastest way to give an actor character individuality is to change a structural feature. I have sculpted and created many from a minor nose change to a full dog snout, to create a variety of characters.
Scar and Wound Prosthetic- Blood and gore is a common need in many films. I can create something as simple as a scar to bullet holes and burns. There is also the occasional object protruding from the skin, and I can create that too.
